Last updated October 6, 2026. This policy describes What a Loser version 1.0 and this support website. The app’s public release is pending.
Your data stays on your devices
What a Loser stores your goal, preferences and weigh-ins locally. It has no account system, ads or analytics, and does not send your weight or goals to a developer-operated server.
Apple Health is optional
With your permission, the app reads weight measurements from Apple Health. It never writes or deletes Health records. Scale readings reach Apple Health through your scale’s own app. You can revoke access using Apple Health’s permissions controls. Previously imported readings may remain in the app’s local cache until you reset its data.
Your paired watch
The app uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity to sync your goal, preferences and manual weigh-ins between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch. Health readings are read locally through Apple Health. Device backups and Apple’s Health syncing follow your Apple settings.
Resetting your data
Choose Start a new journey, then Reset journey in Settings to remove the locally stored goal and weigh-ins. The reset is sent to the paired app when connectivity permits. Resetting the app does not delete any Apple Health records.
Support messages
If you choose to email support, your email provider delivers your address and the message you send so Grant can respond. You do not need to include weight records. This is separate from the app, which does not automatically send your readings to the developer.
