What is What a Loser?
What a Loser is Grant Eagon’s weight-goal countdown for iPhone and Apple Watch. It shows weight remaining to a goal, recent trends and weigh-in history without a food diary. Version 1.0 requires iOS 18.2 or later and watchOS 11.2 or later for the watch app.
Use it for a quick glance at progress, a manual weigh-in, or a trend check after a scale reading reaches Apple Health. It has no account system or ads.

Getting started
Set your starting weight and goal weight. Your countdown shows the difference between your recent weight trend and your goal. Add weigh-ins yourself, or connect Apple Health.
Connecting a smart scale
In your scale’s app, enable its Apple Health integration and allow it to write Weight. In What a Loser, open Settings and connect Apple Health. Allow read access to Weight. Take a fresh reading, confirm it appears in Apple Health, then reopen What a Loser.
Why the number changes
The countdown uses an average of daily readings over the last seven calendar days. Normal fluctuations can move it in either direction. The starting weight remains fixed when you edit your goal.
Why there’s no estimate yet
Your outlook needs readings on at least six days spanning two weeks. An estimate pauses when readings are old, your trend is not falling, or the projection is too far out. An estimate is a scenario based on recent pace, not a promise.
Watch complications
Add a What a Loser complication while editing a compatible watch face. Open the watch app after changing your goal or adding readings to refresh its saved data. Apple controls the timing of complication updates.
iPhone and watch syncing
Keep both devices paired and nearby, and open both apps. Goals, preferences and manual weigh-ins sync when the connection is available. Health readings are read from Apple Health on each device.
Resetting
Settings → Start a new journey → Reset journey removes the app’s goal and locally stored readings. The reset reaches the paired device on its next sync. It does not delete Apple Health records.

Contact grant.eagon@gmail.com. Please describe the problem and your iPhone/watch software versions. You do not need to send weight records.
Common questions
Does it need an Apple Watch?
No. The iPhone app supports setting a goal, adding manual weigh-ins and viewing progress. A compatible Apple Watch adds the watch app and watch-face complications.
Can I use it without Apple Health?
Yes. Add manual weigh-ins without connecting Health. Optional Health access reads Weight; What a Loser does not write or delete Apple Health records.
Which smart scales work?
A scale can supply readings if its own app writes Weight to Apple Health. Confirm that integration in the scale vendor’s documentation. What a Loser does not connect directly to every scale.
Is this a calorie counter or medical tool?
No. It tracks weight trends without food or calorie logging. It does not measure body fat or provide medical advice. Outlooks describe observed trends and do not promise a result.
Is What a Loser released, and what does it cost?
The selected US launch price is $1.99 as a one-time download, with no subscription. Regional prices may differ. Public App Store availability is not yet confirmed; this page will be updated when the app is released.
